Visit the official CBL Data Recovery Download Page to get the version you need:
Windows Version: Best if you are wiping an external drive, a secondary internal drive, or a flash drive.
DOS / Bootable Version: Essential if you want to wipe your main C: drive, as Windows cannot erase itself while running. You can download the ISO or the USB Flash Drive Creator tool.
Step 2: Prepare the Bootable Media (For Main Drive Wipes Only)
If you downloaded the DOS version to wipe your primary drive: Insert an empty USB flash drive into your computer.
Use the CBL USB Creator or a tool like Rufus to burn the program image onto the flash drive.
Restart your computer, enter your BIOS/UEFI settings, and change the boot order to boot from the USB drive first. Step 3: Select Your Hard Drive
Open the application (either inside Windows or via the bootable environment): Click on the Select Disk button.
Carefully look through the list of detected storage devices.
Check the box next to the exact drive you intend to destroy.
